SNAKE RIVER

The legendary Snake is the local freestone river that runs through our backyard here in Jackson. It’s a world class fishery with sweeping Teton views. With over 65 miles of cold floatable water, thousands of islands, and hundreds of side channels, this is pristine habitat for the native Fine-Spotted Snake River Cutthroat Trout. Most would say the prime season for floating and fishing here is mid July through early October. Preseason can also be good before our snowpack starts melting, from March through early May.

South Fork

The section of the Snake River flowing out of Palisades Reservoir is referred to as the South Fork. The season here is the same as the Snake River, with best dry fly fishing from July through October and many would argue that it’s the best fishery in the West. Just an hour’s drive from Jackson - the South Fork offers all types of fishing experiences and is legendary for both quantity and size of fish. It is a big, broad river with many side channels and braids that provide thousands of miles of shoreline and pristine trout habitat.

The GroS Ventre

This smaller creek is a major tributary to the Snake River and a great place to walk and wade fish. There are numerous access points to park close to the river, making it a great place for all ages and abilities. We drive towards the nearby small town of Kelly to start this adventure. Fishing the Gros Ventre provides a unique experience with beautiful Teton Views. It fishes best from June through September.

Green & New Fork Rivers

Wyoming’s Green and New Fork rivers flow from the foothills of the Wind River Range and are known for beautiful, large fish. Here we catch brown and rainbow trout, as well as a growing population of cutthroat trout. At just an hour’s drive from Jackson Hole, it is a great getaway from our local waters. These rivers fish best in spring and fall, and offer experienced anglers unique, challenging and rewarding opportunities for trophy trout.

FLAT Creek Elk Refuge

Flat Creek is a world renowned spring creek right outside the town of Jackson. They say the spirit of flyfishing lives in the spring creeks of the West, and after one experience with a hatch here, you’ll know why. Similar to Idaho’s Silver Creek and Henry’s Fork, large trout lurk in the slow moving & technical water, and pound for pound fight harder than any fish in the state. Anyone looking to test their skills or try something new should give Flat Creek a try. This is a wade fishery - with no boating involved - and the season is August 1st to November 1st.

BigHorn River

The Bighorn is absolutely world-class and one of the best places in the West to catch big browns and rainbows. The Bighorn is located in the town of Thermopolis and  makes for a great weekend getaway or an ideal stop before heading in or out of Yellowstone National Park via the East Entrance (Silvergate). This venue is ideal for those seeking a unique adventure, an easy-going pace without the crowds, and a chance at the fish of a lifetime. The season here is April through November.

SALT RIVER

The Salt is a complex, diverse, & intimate river flowing through the scenic ranch lands of Star Valley. It is smaller and slower than the Snake, but regularly produces nice brown and cutthroat trout. Bigger fish enter the river via Palisades Reservoir later in the season.
